The work of Sally Bassett hangs on walls in homes throughout the UK and beyond, but it also appears in the workplace of some fortunate people. Her work is in demand from a whole range of businesses and organisations in both the public and private sectors.

Sally finds her large sea paintings are very popular with business managers, as they look great in a relatively colourless corporate environment. Sally is also asked to create mixed media and collage pieces for the workplace, because these give her more scope to get the three dimensional feel to her work that suits big empty spaces. These pieces are bold and dynamic and help enliven dull offices, corridors and reception areas.

Sally's subject matter is often boats and men at work, because this gives interest, bright blocks of colour and structure. In late May 2004, for example there were over 300 men working in shifts round the clock at Tring station in Hertfordshire near where Sally lives. Sally did a number of pieces which were inspired by her many visits to the railway. As an artist she found the shapes, angles, colour and work exciting and worthy of recording. Train operators please note!
