Acrylic on canvas. 20 by 20 ins.
This painting is of a fishing boat pulled up the beach in Coverack on the Lizard in Cornwall. The sun was very bright and the shadows of the baot seemed almost as solid as the boat itself. I liked the division of space and the geometrics of the composition, the curving shapes of the boat, the bright colour and the interlocking of the looping ropes, the curve of the boat, and the spherical very bright luminous pink floats. In my painting I was trying to simplify my images and to use bright colour for impact.
