Evening Bluebells

This was painted after a sunlit evening walk among the bluebells on the National Trust Ashridge estate. The smell of the flowers was overwhelming, the light marvelous and the deep ultramarine of the blue blls in shadow or the pale pink of the bluebells in sun created their own magic fantasy land of beauty, peace and tranquility.
