Iridescent Skier, Blue Shadows and Snow

This painting was made from a sketch I made while sitting and having a picnic lunch and watching skiers appear over the brow of the mountain. The interest was the twisting tracks the skiers made in the snow and the snow plumes that followed them. Long blue shadows from the trees spilled over the white snow and the mountain in shadow looked deep blue purple.
