Last days of summer

This painting was done after a walk in Ashridge, the National Trust woodland near my home. My route took my between avenues of beech trees, The sun was already low in the sky and gave long slanting shadows, silver edged trees and orange, yellow and brown windows of moving colour as the sun through the autumn leaves made its own magic of late summer.
