While in Cornwall in Winter I stopped by a windswept bush. Big westerly gales sweep the coast of Cornwall sculpting any bush or tree which gets in the way. This painting is one of a series of paintings that I did from sketches, notes and photographs taken on the spot.I liked the movement the wind had imparted to the branches of the bush. The Hawthorn bush in my painting was wet from recent rain, and the berries looked shiny and luscious, almost fit to eat!
