Sheep in the Sun, Trees in the Shadow

Water based printing ink on paper, 20 by 26 inches.

This piece came from a walk in the Chilterns near where I live in Aldbury. At a certain time of year at the beginning of Spring when all the trees become green with a period of a week or so. The piece shows the dark trees and May blossom in shadow, and the field very green and juicy with new grass.

The crisp outline of the sheep was gained by drawing on stencil paper and then cutting out the sheep images. This method gave the crisp outline of the sheep which I wanted.
