Acrylic on canvas. 36 x 30 ins.
This painting was done from a sketch made in my sketchbook while walking along the shingle spit at Blakeney Point, Norfolk. When on the coast in Norfolk and the weather is fine it is a good challenge to try and walk along the shingle spit to Blakeney point to see the seals. On this occasion I did not get as far as the point, but stopped to sketch. The steep angle of the pebbles and sand going into the sea adds focus. People wandering along the beach with children or dogs add interest and perspective. The day was windy and envigorating, but sunny.
