Big Atlantic rollers push onto the beach in Sennen on the Penwith peninsula in Cornwall. The waves are very good for surfing on, but also for wave watching. I love to watch the unbroken line of breakers as they undulate onto the beach and discharge their might in cascades of white foam. My painting is an effort to capture one of the moments as the translucent aquamarine water spills and froths on the down side of a breaking wave. I have used texture paste to give a three dimensional feel to the breaking wave.
