This image is of boats hauled up away from the winter gales.
In the tiny fishing hamlet of Cadgewith on the Lizard in Cornwall a small harbour faces due east. During the Winter, especially when an easterly gale is forcast the boats are pulled up the shingle beach and almost onto the street to try and keep them safe. What interested me initially was the blocks of colour of the boats and the floats. A small river zig-zagged down the beach to the sea.
I have used a limited palette of colours to build my composition and to try and recreate the physicality of the scene that was before me.
