At one time there were many hundreds of pilchard boats plying from the coastal towns of Cornwall. Now sadly the pilchards are no longer plentiful, but St Ives still has one old pilchard boat. I found the curvacous lines of the boat a wonderful subject for my art work. I have tried to simplify the image to the essentials.
