Black Asphalt, Orange Jackets

On one boiling hot sunny day in June 2004 a gang of eight men brought steaming wheelbarrows of hot asphalt for the new platform. My collage is worked from a sketch done at the time where the foreman watched and directed while his men dumped the hot glutinous mounds for raking and rolling. My collage try to capture the moment of heat, and colour.
