Chain gang

While I stood on the footbridge over the railway line one of the work gangs of eight men came off shift. The man in the picture is carrying the chains used to lift the rails. Perspective is given by the footbridge which narrows into the distance. The railway photographer stands looking over the station, while the foreman chats with his colleagues in the distance. The interest for me was the man with the chains.
