Daisies, Poppies and Seed Heads

There are certain flowers and themes which I love to do. This includes wild seas and wild flowers.Flowers include poppies, foxgloves, bluebells, sunflowers, and irises. I love the bright vibrant colour of the poppies, and the strong structural shape of irises and foxgloves, so these are an ongoing theme.

In the silk painting Daisies, Poppies and Seed Heads I have painted freehand onto the stretched silk using liquid wax as a resist. I have applied steam fix dye colour by degrees using a brush. Once the painting was complete it was steam fixed using the pressure cooker, then washed, ironed and mounted.
