I made a number of sketches while standing at Pendeen Watch, a rocky promontory of rock jutting out into the Atlantic ocean just east of Lands End. The sun was already low on the horizon and lit the spume from the huge waves as they dashed themselves on the rocks. The spray from the waves lifted and drifted upwards looking like so much silver and gold dust.
