Curved Ropes, Four Boats

Collograph. 12 by 12 inches.

I used a sketch and photograph I made in Mousehole in Cornwall as my starting point. It was the curving shape of the ropes tying the boats to the harbour wall and the interlocking boat shapes that interested me. I have used string, sandpaper, corrugated paper and packing material to give the three dimensional effect. The collograph has been sealed with varnish.
