Silk dye on silk, 12 x 12in
I often visit Cornwall for inspiration. The storm on the rocks is Atlantic waves pounding the rocks on the Cornish coast. The spatter effect of the sea foam is got by flicking hot wax onto the stretched silk. The movement of the waves was captured by dragging a comb with hot wax down across the silk in a wave movement.
