Sun Kissed Rollers on an Atlantic Swell

Silk dye on silk, 12 x 12in

This is not any particular Atlantic wave, but comes from my imagination. I love the translucence of the waves just under their foaming tips. Flicking hot melted wax onto the stretched silk is not an exact art, but I like the random and unexpected results which can be achieved and these can give a fluidity and movement to the work. Once complete the painting is steam fixed to ensure colourfastness.
